ABOUT US

VIM AND VIGOUR ARE BACK ON CHAPEL STREET IN THE SHAPE OF VIMTO GARDENS; A VIBRANT NEW SIX-STORY LUXURY COLLECTION OF 83 APARTMENTS AND 14 TOWNHOUSES

The Chapel Street corridor has undergone massive regeneration, which has transformed the entire cityscape and made Chapel Street a go to destination for those looking to buy a new home. With more improvements ongoing across the area there has never been a better time to move to the city.

Chapel Street is an area rich in built and natural assets, which includes the Grade II listed Salford Cathedral, the former Town Hall and the former Salford Royal Hospital building.

These historical buildings are being revitalised, while new high quality buildings and spaces are being developed alongside them to rejuvenate the area. The combination of old and new will create a unique city high street with a quirky, creative feel that's perfect for young professionals and families alike.

The area has been treated to a major facelift. The roads and footpaths have been improved, work has taken place at Salford Central station, and the Salford Crescent station at the University has been upgraded. Historic landmarks in the area have also been restored to their former glory.

Chapel Street has become a hub for people who love having the mainstream attractions of Manchester and Salford on their doorstep but prefer to put their feet up somewhere that feels more like home.

THE VIMTO STORY

IN 1908, A NORTHERNER CALLED NOEL JOHN NICHOLS LOANED £100 FROM HIS FAMILY TO SET UP A BUSINESS AS A WHOLESALE DRUGGIST AND HERB IMPORTER.

Nichols' aim was to create a special non-alcoholic drink. He experimented with all the different herbs and spices and eventually created Vimto in a wooden barrel in his warehouse. They bottled and delivered the cordial at night and took orders by day
on bicycles.

Initially called 'Vim Tonic', it was intended as a healthy pick-me-up cordial, which would give energy, vim and vigour to those who drank it. It was soon being sold in the local bars as an alternative to the 'evils' of alcohol. Its success was based on the secret formula, which has remained unchanged for a century. Just 2 years later, due to the continuing success, Nichols moved to new premises on Chapel Street in Salford, where the excellent rail, canal and road connections bode well for quick and easy distribution. The Vimto site was just metres from our brand new development. Nichols was a firm believer in continuous improvement...
Vimto Gardens is a true reflection of that very sentiment. Vimto has now moved away from Chapel Street but it is still an iconic and contemporary North West brand.

VIM AND VIGOUR ARE BACK ON CHAPEL STREET

A LITTLE INTRO

English Cities Fund (ECf) - a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General Property and the Homes and Communities agency - is developing the wider Salford Central scheme, which Vimto Gardens is at the core of. Once complete, it has the potential to deliver 11,000 new jobs, 220,000 square metres of commercial space for office, retail and leisure development, 849 new homes, 390 hotel rooms and a number of safe and accessible public areas for local people to enjoy.

Named after the famous drink that was first produced just metres from the site, it's rapidly becoming the location of choice for people with a penchant for life that's bubbling with possibilities.

Designed to be accessible to first time buyers, while also providing ample space for families or those wishing to upsize, it's a place with room to breathe.

With all amenities nearby, including a primary school, this space is perfectly positioned to meet the practical requirements of life, whilst being small enough to create an intimate community.

Forming a square around a private green space for residents and guests only, Vimto Gardens offers a refreshing change with a vibrant community feel.

Built to the highest specification and using materials that will stand the test of time, this new addition to Chapel Street looks set to play a key role in the future of Salford's landscape.

VIMTO GARDENS COMPLETES FIRST COMMERCIAL UNIT

VERO

Vimto Gardens - Chapel Street's latest mixed-use development - has leased its first commercial unit to an independent modern Italian eatery.

Vero Moderno, owned by local resident Giuseppe Piccoli, will be opening in one of the four units within the next few months. The 1,625 sq ft space will be transformed into a vibrant eatery, offering both an eat-in and takeaway service. The restaurant enables Salford to take a slice of the region's buzzing pizza scene.

Beppe said: "Being a resident of Chapel Street, I've witnessed first-hand the incredible makeover it has had in recent years and I'm certain the regeneration will continue to attract many people to the area. This is my first business venture - the help and support I've received from ECf has been fantastic. After considering a few options, I chose to open my first venture on Chapel Street as it's an exciting part of the city with a vast customer base. At Vero Moderno, we will pay particular attention to creating an authentic Italian-style pizza, with the dough being slowly matured for up to 72 hours for an incredible taste. I'm looking forward to welcoming local family, students and professionals and building long-standing relationships with them."

Phil Mayall, development director at English Cities Fund (ECf), said: "This lease signing marks an exciting phase for the wider Salford Central development. Having a restaurant on-site will not only benefit the residents living in the 96 apartments and townhouses, but also the wider community. We're looking forward to welcoming more businesses to Chapel Street and further enhancing the regeneration of Salford."

There are three commercial units remaining at Vimto Gardens, ranging from 1,388 to 4,208 sq ft. Businesses interested in leasing the units can visit www.vimtogardens.co.uk/#commercial for more information.

The award-winning Vimto Gardens development is part of the Salford Central regeneration scheme, which is being delivered by ECf - a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal and General and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) - through an active partnership with Salford City Council. The scheme's latest phase of development, Timekeepers Square, has recently launched to potential buyers.

Timekeepers Square - 36 two, three and four-bedroom Georgian townhouses - is the next stage in the Salford Central regeneration scheme and is due for completion in 2017.

VIMTO GARDENS MAKES A SPLASH AT PROPERTY AWARDS

Insider North West Residential Property Awards

Vimto Gardens has been named Urban Residential Development of the Year at the inaugural Insider North West Residential Property Awards.

The awards ceremony, which took place on 27 January at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, saw more than 460 residential property professionals celebrate the region's successes over the last 12 months. Vimto Gardens triumphed, beating off stiff competition from the likes of Tribe Apartments, Hatbox and Vita Student First Street, taking top spot as it 'ticked all the boxes' for the judges.

The 97-home mixed-use development, which is located just metres along from the world-renowned purple soft drink's original factory site and takes its name from the much-loved brand, was so popular it sold out entirely off-plan in under a year.

The scheme was developed by English Cities fund (ECf) in conjunction with Salford City Council. ECf is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes & Communities Agency.

Hollie Reynolds, residential sales and marketing manager north at ECf, said: "Vimto Gardens has been one of the most exciting residential developments in the region over the last few years. It's been a brilliant journey seeing the project through from initial plans to unprecedented sales success and this award really is the icing on the cake - we're thrilled!"

PUPILS LEARN MARKETING SKILLS AT VIMTO GARDENS

St Philips Yr5

Pupils from St Philips C of E Primary School had a lesson in marketing when they visited the newly-launched Vimto Gardens townhouses and apartments this week.

The year fives enjoyed a master class in all things property development, from planning through to sales, for the new development, which is directly opposite their school. They also got the chance to try their hand at designing posters to market the homes.

Teacher Beth Morgans said: "We've watched the development grow into an unmissable part of Chapel Street over the last school year, so it has been really interesting for the children to learn about the back story and understand how the new homes have come to be there. They loved finding out more about the history of the site and especially liked coming up with creative posters to advertise the homes."

Hollie Reynolds, residential sales and marketing manager at developer, English Cities fund, gave the class a history of the site and development. English Cities fund is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General Property and the Homes and Communities agency (HCA).

She said: "Chapel Street's got a very rich heritage and we're proud to be part of its future. It's been great to see the children from St Philips C of E Primary School be so engaged with the development and wanting to learn more about the area where they live."

The Vimto Gardens development officially went on sale earlier this month, with the first homes due to be ready to move into by Christmas. Already being dubbed Salford's newest and coolest residential development, the striking properties are set to thrust life back into the heart of the city when they are completed.

Based on Chapel Street, just metres along from the world-renowned purple soft drink's original factory site, the development takes its name from the much-loved brand.

The six-storey luxury residential building features an internal private courtyard on the first floor, as well as retail and commercial units on the ground floor, making Vimto Gardens a real hub of the community.

The sales office is now open 10am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday.
